Getting Better Super Sustainable

  • Product Description

Soap berries have been used in Indian, Nepalese, Japanese, Chinese and Indigenous societies to clean homes, bodies, hair and fabric for thousands of years. They're rich in saponins— a natural surfactant and soaping agent that binds to oil, dirt and odors to lift them from fabric. Research has shown that soap berries are as effective (if not more!) than the blue goo you find in detergent, and a little goes a really long way.

Not all soap berries are this awesome— the soap berries from the Sapindus mukorossi tree have extra high concentrations of surfactants, so your laundry gets extra clean.

This is a little different than your typical plastic gallon of blue goopy detergent (you know the one). Whether you have a front or top loading machine, or an HE compatible one, you're going to want to place a single pod into your washing machine drum (not the dispenser) and then add your laundry. For super heavy or dirty loads, use two pods, and follow the garment care instructions for water temperature and wash cycle.
